Chinese Dialogs

This popular program for those in their second year of study in Mandarin Chinese presents twenty-four lessons based on everyday conversational situations.

The dialogs record the experiences of an American visiting Shanghai. Starting with arrival, the lessons take you through the daily activities of the visitor-renting a house, hiring a cook, making a phone call. Each lesson includes key vocabulary, sentence patterns, and pronunciation guide. Translations of sample-usage sen-tences in the vocabulary are provided. The Yale transcription system, usually consid-ered the easiest to learn, is used through-out the text. The series of dialogs was developed by Fred Fang-yu Wang.
