The Lady in the Painting

This well-known Chinese folktale, retold by Fred Fang-yu Wang in simple Chinese, can be used following completion of Read Chinese, Vol. I or a similar beginning text in written Chinese, which introduces at least 300 characters. The characters are printed in full and simplified forms and pronunciation is given in both Yale and pinyin romanization without English translation. The audio cassettes of the program can also be used as listening comprehension for beginners or as a "brush up" for those who know "a little" Chinese. 2 cassettes (2 hr.) and 87-p. text.
