For the first time, three innovations in learn-ing are combined to teach a classical language: modern teaching techniques, the use of a programmed text for self-instruction, and the extensive use of audio cassettes.

This course was developed by Dr. Waldo E. Sweet of the University of Michigan and is designed to provide step-by-step learning through direct contact with the wis-dom and daily activity of the ancient people.
