Quick English for Macintosh
Quick English provides 10 video lessons in conversational
American English for
language
labs or self-study. Lesson topics include: making phone calls, greetings
and farewells, invitation to a movie, having a party at home, making airline
reservations, buying tickets for a concert, making a dentist appointment,
getting a haircut and changing an appointment.
Each lesson includes the following:
1.A movie with dialog that can be played at normal speed or slowed down.
2.Grammar and usage reference to many words contained in the dialog.
3.Vocabulary reference for building a practical base of key words and phrases contained in each lesson.
4.Relevant culture highlights.
5.Practice questions relating to the dialog.
6.Language games such as word jungle, hangman and matching puzzle.
7.A mastery test which confirms understanding of lesson material with 10 timed questions.
You can listen to the dialog at normal rate or slowed down. You can listen to the whole dialog at once or by sentence. You can also listen to selected words one at a time. You can record your own voice to compare it to the native English speaker's pronunciation.
