Talking Wordbook - English/French/Arabic
This language series CD - ROM is ideal for enhancing the vocabulary in any of the 3 Languages. This CD contains more than 6000 Words in each of the three languages. These words can be searched and translated in any of the three languages. They can be searched visually as well. For example an English speaker can search words in the English language and a Arabic speaker can search words using the Arabic language. The CD lets you access three main options: search the dictionary; test your skills with a word game; and visit some point-and-click screens for instant word pronunciation in any of the three language.
Once a word is found, its meaning is displayed in the other 2
languages. In addition an object representing this word is displayed
on the screen. At this point clicking on any of the three words.
Causes the word to be pronounced in that language.
Many of the words have visual representation. For example if you
select the English as the main language, you can search for "Car"
then the corresponding translation of "Car" in French
and Arabic is displayed. In addition a picture of a car is displayed
on the upper right corner. Now if you click on any of the words
in any of the languages they are pronounced in the corresponding
language.
There is a word game. In this game you have to recognize a picture and click on the right word. You can play the game in any of the three languages by just clicking on the language of your choice.
Visiting place activity. This activity presents the user with
5 screens to choose:
In any of the above screens you can select any of the three languages. Now click on any object on the screen and listen to the name of that object in the language selected. Switch to another language, and mow listen to the name in that other language. For example, clicking on the "Apple" fruit you will hear "Apple" pronounced in English if the English language is selected, you will hear "Pomme" if the French language is selected, and "Toufaha" if the Arabic language is selected.
