This software is designed to assist, not replace, independent translators and language professionals in translation departments and translation companies.
TranslationManager provides a comprehensive system of translation, text processing and dictionary aids tailored to the needs of translators and other bilingual personnel engaged in translation and publishing-related activities.
TranslationManager products are computer-assisted translation systems that automate repetitive tasks, freeing the translator to attend to the finer points of translation which require the judgment of an expert. Translation of major wordprocessing files and program-integrated information can be performed in multiple languages including all major European and Asian languages. These features accelerate turnaround time, save money in overall translation costs and improve the quality and consistency of the information translated.
Features:
Translation Memory is a linguistic database that stores every original text segment and its corresponding translation. During the translation process, the Translation Memory is searched, previous translations (either the same or similar) are automatically detected and made available for reuse.
Dictionaries:
TranslationManager allows creation and updating of customized dictionaries ensuring accurate terminology. Existing on-line terminology can be imported using an SGML format. Dictionaries are automatically searched during translation.
Translation Editor:
The integrated editor is especially designed for translations. The most popular document formats such as WordPerfect, Ami Pro, Microsoft Word, Interleaf, Book Master . . . etc. are supported. During translation, the layout information is protected, ensuring format consistency. No extra desktop publishing is needed.
Languages:
Each package includes 5 main languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish and German.
You may add language support modules for up to 21 languages, including, Japanese, Greek, Norwegian, Dutch, Swiss, Portuguese, Portuguese/Brazilian, German/Swiss, Danish, Icelandic, Arabic, Russian...
