QuickTrans is designed for a broad range of users, from those needing effortless translation of occasional words and phrases, to the busy executive on travel, needing immediate access to translation assistance. Students find QuickTrans a great learning aid, letting them quickly look up words and phrases, allowing them to spend more time concentrating on language structure and syntax.
QuickTrans is very easy to use. Simply type in word, phrase or sentence, and QuickTrans displays the translation. If QuickTrans finds words or phrases with multiple meaning, it gives you an opportunity to select which one you want. If it can't find a word in it's dictionary, it lets you search the dictionary for similar words. A single keystroke tells QuickTrans that you want to type in English or the foreign language.
QuickTrans is bidirectional. It knows the input language and automatically translates to the other language. For example, (using the English/Russian language pair) when the input text is English, QuickTrans translates to Russian; and when the input language is Russian, QuickTrans automatically translates it into English. QuickTrans even recognizes lines having both English and foreign words.
This bidirectional capability makes QuickTrans an indispensable tool in all kinds of situations. You can use it to converse with foreign friends, acquaintances and business associates. You type in English, they see the translation in their own language. They type their response in their own language and you see the translation in English. There is even a helpscreen showing how to type the foreign language characters.
QuickTrans runs on IBMcompatible computers (including notebooks) operating DOS 3.0 or newer. An EGA or VGA display adapter and hard disk is required. QuickTrans requires only about 100 Kbytes for program files; depending on language, dictionaries require 1 to 2 Mbytes each.
Our existing LexiTrans Version 2.0 customers will appreciate that QuickTrans is completely compatible with their existing Version 2.0 language configurations and dictionaries, including all LexiTrans Custom Configurations. In fact, QuickTrans can use existing LexiTrans V.2.0 keyboard and color preferences, and users can use their LexiTrans V.2.0 tools to customize and edit the dictionaries. QuickTrans is available as a lowcost addon to LexiTrans. Our QuickTrans addon includes the QuickTrans program only, and takes advantage of the user's existing LexiTrans Version 2.0 language and dictionary files.
QuickTrans Version 2.0 is currently available for the Russian/English or Polish/English language pairs at $90.00. Other languages will be available in the future. Current LexiTrans Version 2.0 users may purchase the QuickTrans Addon for $60.00.
