LexiScan Version 2.0 is a PCbased foreign language scanning and text recognition system designed to provide the user with an easy way to input foreign language text. LexiScan is an excellent tool for anyone with foreign language text processing requirements.

LexiScan Version 2.0 provides quick, easy and accurate automatic input of nearly any foreign language text. LexiScan combines an enhanced version of the PERCEIVE™ Optical Character Recognition system with the LexiText intelligent text import routine, to provide the best foreign language input system available today.

LexiScan Version 2.0 is easily and quickly trained, making it useful for most alphabetically based languages. LexiText enhances the recognition accuracy for nearly any language. LexiText comes with a text analysis routine to help you configure it for your own specialized applications.

LexiScan Version 2.0 includes display fonts for any language in LexiTRANS inventory, including our custom languages. It comes with pretrained recognition fonts for many of the languages in our inventory.

LexiScan Version 2.0 runs on IBM compatible machines running Microsoft Windows 3.1 (386 or faster recommended). An EGA or VGA display adapter is required. LexiScan runs directly with many popular scanners, including the HP ScanJet family. It will process TIFF format image files created by nearly any scanner on the market today.

LexiScan Version 2.0 requires the LexiTrans foreign language translation system to provide optional printed output to the HPLaserJet, IBMgraphics printer, and compatibles.

A hard disk is required. LexiScan Version 2.0 software and system data files require a minimum of 3 Mbytes of available disk space. A minimum of 4 Mbytes of RAM is required, we recommend 8 Mbytes installed. Additional memory will provide improved processing speed.

In order to accommodate users who need LexiScan for languages not in our current inventory, we offer a custom language option. This option provides the necessary configuration files needed by LexiScan to work in your choice of languages. These configurations are available for any custom language in LexiTRANS inventory. Others are available on special request. Special needs, modifications to existing language configurations, and other unique requirements can usually be met.
