Easy Translator
Using Easy Translator to translate Web pages

To translate a web page:

• Start your web browser.
• Start Easy Translator by clicking on the Easy Translator option on your Start Menu in Windows 95 or the Easy Translator icon in Windows 3.1.
• Using the file open option from your browsers File menu open the "serpiente_dgsca_unam_mx.html" document on the Easy Translator Sample Documents Diskette.

• Note: This Web page is the home page for the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The paragraph of text introduces the visitor to the University and positions it as the most important University in Mexico.
• Translate the text to see if this meaning comes through.

Set the Easy Translator Language direction to "Spanish/English".

Set the Easy Translator Dictionary to "core".

• Note: Easy Translator includes two dictionaries. The "core" contains over 60,000 words with their translation in everyday usage context. The "internet" dictionary includes most of the same words with their translation in the context of technology usage.

• Click on the Web page translation button.

• The Easy Translator Translation Progress window will appear and show you a meter of the translation process.

• When the translation is finished a new Web page in the desired language will be loaded into your browser.

• Note: You can see that the translation is not perfect. As explained earlier in this document Machine Translation does not give a perfect translation. However, the meaning of this paragraph should be clear to any reader.
• If you would like to get the authors English version simply click on the "English Version" link in the document. You will see an English version of this page that you can compare to the Easy Translator translation.
