Language Master is the first Multilingual Translation System that works simultaneously with English, Ukrainian, and Russian, providing Translation modules and Spell-checking for these three languages. The System works within monolingual documents and within documents that contain mixed-language fragments.

The Translator functions on both semantic and syntactic levels. That is, it not only translates individual words literally but it also translates texts sentence by sentence, taking into account the grammatical constructionof each language. A special feature of the program is "LM Assistant," which allows the user to locate the cursor on a word, select the LM Assistant, and view the word's translation(s) on screen. If the user wishes to add a meaning, the Assistant makes it easy to do so.

Language Master was designed to be expandable: it will support additional subject dictionaries for spell-checking and translation, and it also has the capability to support additional alphabetical languages once spell-checking and translation dictionaries are developed for them (e.g., LM will support Polish spell-checking and translation once development of Polish dictionaries is completed).

The stand-alone version of Language Master (v. 4.0) includes a text editor and a keyboard driver which supports both Cyrillic and Latin fonts. It also allows customization of keyboard layout. A unique feature of the program is its Conversion tool that allows for conversion between WINDOWS and DOS file formats and provides conversion to/from Latin transliteration of Cyrillic texts.

Language Master is also available as a Microsoft Word add-on program (v. 5.0), which works transparently within WORD. This version allows the Microsoft WORD user to take advantage of LM's spell-checking and translation tools without having to leave the WORD environment. While LM's spell-checking and translation operations are performed, the original document format (which might include charts, graphs, tables, and font scaling) is maintained. Works with Word v.6.0 and 7.0.
