Enhanced Features and Functions

Full compatibility with Microsoft Office97: All Microsoft Office97 applications are supported by Japanese Partner 4.5(JP45).

Dynamic Localization for Menu and Dialog Box: When the "Display Localized Menu/Dialog" item is clicked, all application menus and dialogs are localized to Japanese. When the "Restore Original Menu/Dialog" item is clicked, all application menus and dialogs are restore to English.This feature localizes English to Japanese only and does not affect any other languages that are displayed in menus and dialogs. This feature is added into JP45 Control Center which will help many users who are not fluent in English. This function supports English and Japanese Windows95 only. This function can not work in CWin95, PWin95, KWin95.

Enhanced Japanese Character Display and Printer Support: A newly developed Japanese rasterizer engine for JP45 greatly improved the display quality of Japanese characters on screen. The display and printing speeds are also improved. In addition, JP45 now supports even more printers especially to color printers and PostScript printers. The PostScript printer printing speed can be greatly enhanced if bitmap data is sent to printer instead of outline data.

Extensive 15 Japanese fonts included: To continuously add value to our customers, we have increased our Japanese Partner V4.5 standard font offering from 4 to 15! We have added 11 True Type fonts for user’s convenience.

Support Third Party TrueType Fonts: JP45 now supports all TrueType fonts except in TTC and TT OPEN format. True Type fonts in TTF format are all compatible with JP45.

Supports ISO-2022-CN Encoding and MIME Encoding: JP45 supports ISO2022-JP full set. It is a new international Internet standard which is gaining popularity. Two forms of MIME encoding are also supported, namely Quoted Printable and Base64. This is very useful for viewing Japanese newsgroups and Email headers.

Auto-Detect Shift-JIS/EUC Codes: This feature is useful when user opens up multiple HTML pages or emails containing different internal codes. When this feature is active, JP45 can intelligently detect Shift-JIS and EUC(JIS) encoding simultaneously and correctly display the Japanese characters on the same screen regardless of the current system internal code setting.

Unicode Japanese fonts to support more browser functions: As Unicode encoding becomes popular, more applications such as Internet browsers will use this type of font. Japanese Partner V4.5 includes one Japanese True Type font which conforms to the Unicode font standard. The font is provided for user’s convenience to use with browsers like Microsoft IE3.0 and Netscape Communicator 4.0.
